EMPLOYMENT – PRODUCTION MANAGER

The Production Manager’s responsibilities include properly plan, staff, and execute all production and manufacturing needs, provide the highest level of fabrication, assist on the floor as well as with other departments as needed, and manage the shop floor and machinist members. The Production Manager maintains a strong working knowledge of all industry standards and practices as well as the company’s products and services.

eSSENTIAL fUNCTIONS

  • Ensure that all manufacturing personnel are scheduled and have work assignments prior to the start of their shift.
  • Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems.
  • Guarantee that hours, goals, and completion dates are established for each manufacturing shop order.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing daily time slips, and production documentation are submitted at the end of each shift and properly completed.
  • Confirm that daily punch cards and daily time slip hours match and make corrections as needed in Estitrack.
  • Ensure that manufacturing delivery dates are met while upholding quality expectations of workmanship.
  • Ensure that manufacturing personnel have the proper materials and tooling required to complete tasks.
  • Enforce safety, attendance and compliance to company policies and procedures.
  • Be the direct line of communication and coordinate production/service requirements with the sales, engineering, and service departments, as required.
  • Be active with the GWBI safety committee and observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Review prints for deficiencies and/or improvements prior to being released to production personnel.

Competencies & REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Desire to pursue training opportunities to continuously build knowledge and skills. Must be willing to cooperate and share expet1ise with others.
  • Take initiative, seeking out additional assignments rather than waiting for assignments.
  • Follow instructions, respond to direction; take responsibility for own actions.

pHYSICAL dEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; work and walk at heights on an occasional basis; use hand to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms· climb or balance; stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee may occasionally lift and /or move up to 25, 50 and / or 100 pounds.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibration, while in the field. . The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job will have supervisory responsibilities that are listed in essential functions.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Regular hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additional hours may be required as needed.

TRAVEL

This position does require some travel.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • 8 years of experience in crane service industry (preferred).
  • 6 Years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing shop.
  • 6 years of experience in Management.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

• Current valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• OSHA 10 a must and OSHA 30 preferable.
