EMPLOYMENT – MANUFACTURING ACCOUNTANT

The Manufacturing Accountant is responsible for the financial books, records, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for the company.

eSSENTIAL fUNCTIONS

  • Ensures that customer invoicing (Accounts Receivable) is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensures Accounts Receivable are consistently monitored and reviewed in order to minimize any late customer payments.
  • Ensures that vendor invoices (Accounts Payable) are properly recorded and classified.
  • Ensures cash records and forecasts are prepared in order to monitor cash flow/needs/activity.
  • Ensures that the Trial Balance accounts accurately reflect the financial transactions of the Company.
  • Ensures the Trial Balance accounts, and subsidiary accounts are accurately updated and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Ensures any asset purchases/projects have an asset number assigned and are accurately and timely recorded.
  • Ensures that year end books are completed, analyzed and submitted timely to public accountant for statements and fax returns.
  • Ensures preparation of Final Cost reviews and submittal to Operations Manager and President.
  • Reviews bankruptcy notices and works for remediation.
  • Ensures enforcement to direct reports of all company rules and policies.
  • Enforces direct reports attendance, safety, and compliance policies.
  • Ensures that their direct reports are reviewed and evaluated as required and on time.
  • Ensures that communications systems are in place – computers, internet, phones, cell phones.
  • Ensures that service contracts are in place and monitors contract time periods.
  • Ensures that there is control of cost associated with the communications billings/services.
  • Monitors communication needs to be certain employees have the necessary communications hardware and software.
  • Monitors communications problems to support employees’ needs and concerns.
  • Monitors age/useful life of equipment for necessary replacement.
  • Coordinates manufacturing software questions/issues.
  • Works with IT personnel to be certain data/communications are safe and secure.
  • Ensures that all Company financial reports are prepared accurately and timely and distributed.
  • Ensures statements are provided with footnotes for any notable variances and exceptions.
  • Monitors actual financial reporting to budget and projections.
  • Ensures proper and timely financial and covenant reporting to banks/financial institutions, if required.
  • Monitors and responds to requests for financial records (Customers, Vendors.)
  • All other duties as assigned.

pHYSICAL dEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibration, while in the field. . The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  This position supervises the Accounting Assistant. 
  • Carries our supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; training employees; providing input for appraising performance; bringing disciplinary, conduct or performance problems to the immediate attention of the President and addressing complaints and resolving problems
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Regular hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional hours may be required as needed.

TRAVEL

This position requires little to no travel.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; three or more years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Current valid driver’s license, safe driving record and reliable mode of transportation.
