EMPLOYMENT – FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN LEVEL 4
The Field Service Technician Level 4 are responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and operating overhead cranes and hoists. Field Service Technicians will be evaluated based on the technician knowledge/qualifications they have achieved. Each level must be completed 100% in order to proceed to the next level
TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS
LEVEL 1
- Generally, works under close supervision
- Cooperation to travel.
- Follow all safety protocols.
- Represent and uphold GWBI standards of professional presentation, timeliness, appearance and organization.
- Fork lift certification.
- Keep company vehicles in a clean and organized manner.
- Aerial lift certification.
- Scissor lift certification.
- Willing to work off shifts and overtime.
- Overhead crane operator certification.
- Any other customer specific training.
- All certification and customer specific training will be provided by GWBI and employee MUST pass.
LEVEL 2 (Company will provide cell phone, credit card and tablet)
- Complete Pre Job-Safety Checklist.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Available for Emergency Call Out
- Completion of all paperwork (legibly) during or immediately following a shift.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NEC and CMMA Codes.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities.
- Rigging certification.
- Acquire all hand tools required.
LEVEL 3 (Company provides work truck)
- Proficient data collections for assigned jobs.
- Works with minimal supervision.
- Resolves issues/makes decision within area of expertise.
- Takes on projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity.
- Highly proficient in communicating. (Written and verbal)
- Working knowledge of OSHA, NEC and CMMA Codes.
- OSHA 10 must be completed.
- Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs for the customer.
- Effectively troubleshoot, repair and inspect overhead cranes and hoists.
- Build and maintain customer confidence/relations by embracing good response time, informing the customer of problems and completing the job in a timely manner.
- Telehandler certified.
- 2000 hours completed of on-the-job experience.
- Must be to efficiently use Inspection Software.
- Overhead crane inspection certification.
- Identifies equipment requirements for the assigned job.
- Desire to pursue training opportunities to continuously build knowledge and skills. Must be willing to cooperate and share expertise with others.
LEVEL 4
- OSHA 30 must be completed.
- Expert knowledge of OSHA, NEC and CMMA.
- Can plan and complete all job tasks.
- Makes decisions in a group setting.
- Has the ability, leadership and safety to run most jobs.
- Mobile crane swing cab certification.
- Mobile crane fixed cab certification.
- Adapts techniques to meet customer needs.
- Manages large projects or processes and problems faced are often complex in nature.
- Works with limited oversight from manager.
- At times will be on-site job management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and work at heights on a regular basis; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 100 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, vibrations, working from various heights via man lifts, ladders, staircases and foot walks. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Regular hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additional hours and weekends will be required/expected as needed.
TRAVEL
This position does require travel. Limited overnight or weekend stays: Emergency/Weekend Call outs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, general education degree (GED), Trade school, equivalent training or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level 4 Field Service Technician will have 5 -7 years on the job experience.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Current valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
