22 Semi-Gantry Cranes (#18265)

Project Description:

G.W. Becker, Inc. commissioned twenty-two (22) new 11 ton magnet duty semi-gantry cranes for a railcar manufacturer in Alabama.  These 3-motion heavy service semi-gantry cranes were designed for magnet duty with 45’ spans, 25’ of lift, and operated by radio control.  The radio control was designed for operating two gantries in tandem for handling long loads.  For ease of maintenance and accessibility, a unitized control panel was mounted on the gantry leg.  The hoists design included flux vector control specifically designed for a hoist without a mechanical load brake. The travel drives were designed with infinitely variable control and offer state of the art precision handling for extremely smooth control and for minimal maintenance.  These units were designed with interchangeable mechanical componentry resulting in reduced capital outlay of spare parts.
