15 Ton Semi-Gantry Stacker Crane (#24485)

Project Description:

G.W. Becker, Inc. commissioned a new 15 ton Semi-Gantry Stacker Crane for a foundry in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  This 3-motion, heavy service, top running, double girder, semi-gantry, rigid mast, stacker crane replaces an existing antiquated unit and is designed to be utilized in customer’s heat treating aisle.  Installed on an existing runway system of 21’-1” span and with 6’-5 3/8” total lift travel (3’-4 5/8” positive & 3’-0 ¾” negative z-axis) designed with twin lifting hoist drums with dead end assemblies, wire ropes, and equalizer bars with pins.  This semi-gantry included high ambient temperature range of 41^O F to 130^O F, 3 speed “belly box” style radio control system with pendant back-up, an audible buzzer & flashing strobe on the gantry leg activated upon bridge movement, and two (2) crane status lights (red and green). This turnkey project included the new EOT crane, runway electrification, and self-performing installation to meet all current applicable CMAA, OSHA, ANSI/ASME, and NEC specifications.
