35 TON OVERHEAD CRANE (#20332)

Project Description:
G.W. Becker, Inc. commissioned a new 35 ton electric overhead traveling crane for a steel tube manufacturer in Indiana.  This 3-motion severe service EOT crane replaced an antiquated unit and was designed to be installed on an existing runway system of 53’ span and 20’ of lift.  The hoist design included flux vector control specifically designed for a hoist without a mechanical load brake. The travel drives were designed with infinitely variable control and offer state of the art precision handling for extremely smooth control and for minimal maintenance.  This turnkey project included removing the existing unit and electrification, manufacturing and delivery of the new EOT crane and new electrification and installation to meet all current applicable CMAA, OSHA, ANSI/ASME, and NEC specifications.  Prior to design engineering and manufacturing, G.W. Becker, Inc. provided an on-site review of the proposed crane envelope and building clearances on the existing runways to assure the unit would be applicable for building requirements.
