35/5 TON OVERHEAD CRANE (#22640)

Project Description:
G.W. Becker, Inc. commissioned a new 35/5 ton electric overhead traveling crane for an Industrial Real Estate Development Company near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The tenant required a 5-motion heavy service EOT crane which is designed to be installed on an existing runway system of 68’-3” span and 45’ of lift.  The hoist is designed with 2-speed hoisting up to 12 FPM for the main hoist and 40 FPM for the auxiliary hoist. The travel drives were designed with infinitely variable control and offer state of the art precision handling for extremely smooth control and minimal maintenance.  The 8-Wheel bridge design with compensating end trucks and end ties offers lighter wheel loads.  The crane is operated by a hand held 5-motion, 2-step radio control system with A/B/Both selector switch as primary.  This turnkey project included the new EOT crane, electrical system and self-performing installation and commissioning to meet all current applicable CMAA, OSHA, ANSI/ASME, and NEC specifications.  To ensure the existing runway rail was adequate for use, a complete detailed Runway Rail Survey was performed.  This survey included span, straightness, elevation, rail-to-rail elevation and rail condition.
