30/5 TON COIL HANDLING CRANE (#16498)

Project Description:
G.W. Becker, Inc. commissioned a new 30/5 ton electric overhead traveling crane for a rolled form steel manufacturer in West Virginia.  This 4-motion heavy service EOT crane was designed to be utilized in customer’s coil shipping & receiving aisle and installed on an existing runway system of 86’ span and 30’ of lift.  Full length walkways were provided on each girder.  Designed and manufactured for severe service duty, the crane is operated by a radio controlled via multiple transmitters featuring a “pitch and catch” operation; included below-the-hook coil grab and power rotating hook block with digital weigh system (up to .1% accurate) and wireless remote scoreboard readouts.  This turnkey project included the new EOT crane, runway electrification, and installation to meet all current applicable CMAA, OSHA, ANSI/ASME, and NEC specifications.
