10 TON OVERHEAD CRANES (#22491)

Project Description:
G.W. Becker, Inc. commissioned two (2) new 10 ton electric overhead traveling cranes for a new steel service center facility in Farmington, New York.  Each crane had two (2) 5 ton hoists, welded box girders and full length footwalks. These 3-motion heavy service EOT cranes were designed to be installed on a new runway system of 88’-6” span and 27’ of lift.  The hoists were designed with 2-speed hoisting up to 30 FPM. The travel drives were designed with infinitely variable control and offer state of the art precision handling for extremely smooth control and minimal maintenance.  The crane is operated by a handheld 3-motion, 2-step radio control system with A/B/Both selector switch as primary.  Photo-eye style collision avoidance was provided, which senses the approach of the opposing crane and slows down both cranes to minimize a high speed collision. This turnkey project included the new EOT crane,  runway rail, electrical system and self-performing installation & commissioning to meet all current applicable CMAA, OSHA, ANSI/ASME, and NEC specifications.
