2 TON SEMI-AUTOMATED OVERHEAD CRANE (#20043)

Project Description:

G.W Becker, Inc. commissioned a new 2 ton semi-automated under-hung single girder overhead crane for a specialty steel producer in Western Pennsylvania. This new crane replaces an existing EOT crane used in the customer’s Zirc Pickle House. This 3-motion, 46′ span, CMAA Class D Service, utilizing two 1 ton capacity hoists with a Louden patented track girder. The semi-automated system services a series of twelve dip tanks utilizing NEMA 4X ground based pedestal control station, wireless communication utilizing HMI, laser positioning system for the bridge, proximity switches and pre-defined dipping routines. This turnkey project included application assistance, design, manufacturing, semi-automation programming and installation of the new EOT crane to meet all current applicable CMAA, OSHA, ANSI/ASME and NEC specifications.
