Double Girder Overhead Cranes
Engineered for higher capacities, longer spans, and demanding industrial environments
Double girder overhead cranes provide the strength, stability, and lift height required for heavy-duty material handling. Built to deliver reliable performance in manufacturing, metals, oil and gas, and other high-demand industries, these cranes are ideal for applications where safety, precision, and durability are critical.
At G.W. Becker, Inc., our double girder cranes are engineered to CMAA Specification 70 and AIST Technical Report 6. Every system is designed by our in-house mechanical, structural, and electrical engineers to ensure long-term reliability and compliance with ANSI, NEC, and OSHA standards.
What Is a Double Girder Overhead Crane?
A double girder overhead crane features two bridge girders that support a top-running trolley and hoist. This configuration provides higher lifting capacities, greater stability, and improved hook height compared to single girder designs. Because the hoist travels on top of the girders, facilities gain more usable lifting space and improved floor clearance.
Double girder cranes are the preferred choice for heavy-duty, continuous-use environments where equipment uptime and precision are essential.
