Column Mounted 1/4 Ton Jib Crane (#36649)

Project Description:

G.W. Becker, Inc. engineered, fabricated, and installed a 0.25-ton wall cantilever jib crane equipped with an electric chain hoist for a manufacturing facility in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. The project included the design and fabrication of an engineered support bracket to accommodate existing building conditions and ensure proper load transfer into the structural column. This compact lifting system was installed to support localized material handling and maintenance operations within the plant.

The turnkey installation included delivery of the jib crane and bracket assembly, structural mounting to the existing column, mechanical and electrical connections, commissioning, and certified load testing. All components and installation procedures were performed in accordance with CMAA, ANSI/ASME, OSHA, and NEC requirements to ensure long-term safety, reliability, and compliance with current industry standards.

• Pendant: 2-button ergonomic pendant with 9′drop
• Safety Features: Upper and lower limit switches, rotation stops, and proper wire management to maintain safe operation during slewing

Electrical System

• Electrical connections completed on site by G.W. Becker, Inc. technicians
• All wiring in accordance with NEC requirements
• Proper grounding and circuit protection integrated into existing plant power system
• Field adjustments and functional checks performed during commissioning
