Crane Inspection Services 

  • Hook & Wire Rope Inspections: Crane inspections, following OSHA 1910.179 and ANSI standards, are conducted by trained and certified inspectors at intervals depending on usage, including:
    • Checking for defects
    • Inspecting hooks, components, and wire ropes for wear and damage
    • Providing repair recommendations
    • Additional NDT testing is available as well
  • Below the Hook Inspections: We offer inspections for various lifting equipment, including slings, chains, lifting beams, and coil hooks, following OSHA 1910.179 standards. Services include:
    • Checking for defects, damage, and correct markings
    • Inspecting operating mechanisms and structural components
    • Providing repair recommendations and offering additional NDT testing if needed
  • Frequent Inspections: Crane inspections must follow OSHA 1910.179 and ANSI standards, conducted by trained, certified inspectors. Frequency depends on crane usage. Inspectors check hooks, wire ropes, controls, brakes, limit switches, blocks, oil leaks, and ensure correct tags and markings. Recommendations for repairs or parts are provided as needed.
  • Periodic Inspections: Regular operational and visual checks based on usage frequency. Trained and certified inspectors adhere to OSHA 1910.179 and ANSI standards. Periodic inspections cover the main line collector, conductors, switches, bridge, trolley, hoists, and cab (if applicable), along with warning devices, tags, markings, and access points. Recommendations for repairs or parts will be provided as necessary.
  • Runway Inspections: Visual examination of conditions of connections, individual components and overall structure. Repair recommendations and repair procedure, as well as detailed survey recommendation, if necessary. Engineer required.

Inspection Process

Pre-Inspection

  • Customer provides list of equipment to be inspected
  • Technicians review the list of requirements unique to your facility
  • Technicians perform visual safety check or area to be worked on

During the Inspection

  • Begin with an initial data collection
  • Perform specified inspection type utilizing digital inspection software
  • Photos taken of deficiencies to be include in report

Post-Inspection

  • Receipt of digital printed copy of your inspection report within 48 hours
  • Receipt of a list of recommended parts and necessary repairs as needed within 72 hours
