25/15 Ton Hot Mill Crane (#16462)

Project Description:
G.W. Becker, Inc. commissioned a new 25/15 ton 4-motion heavy service electric overhead traveling crane for a manufacturer of titanium based metal products in Ohio, replacing an antiquated unit, used in the customer’s hot mill department.  This EOT crane was designed to be installed on an existing runway system of 60” span and 30’ of lift.  The hoists were designed for true-vertical lift and included flux vector control specifically designed for a hoist without a mechanical load brake. The travel drives were designed with infinitely variable control and offer state of the art precision handling for extremely smooth control and  minimal maintenance.  A long-term plan was established for replacement of several units in the plant, utilizing duplicate componentry and resulting in reduced capital outlay of spare parts.  This turnkey project included the new EOT crane, runway electrification, delivery, installation and commissioning to meet all current applicable CMAA, OSHA, ANSI/ASME, and NEC specifications.
