15 TON OVERHEAD CRANE (#24630)

Project Description:
G.W. Becker, Inc. commissioned a new 15 ton electric overhead traveling crane utilized in a heat treating application for a steel producer in Ohio.  The project included the turnkey design, manufacturing, installation and start-up. The 4-motion heavy service EOT crane has a 96’ span with full length walkway on both girders and is equipped with dual 7.5 ton hoists providing 46’ available lift on a single trolley. Both hoist designs included flux vector control specifically designed for a hoist without a mechanical load brake.  The travel drives were designed with infinitely variable control and offer state of the art precision handling for extremely smooth control and minimal maintenance.  This turnkey project included the new EOT crane, electrical system and self-performing installation and commissioning to meet all current applicable CMAA, OSHA, ANSI/ASME, and NEC specifications.
