Overview
The Inside Sales Assistant position is responsible for supporting the Regional Sales Managers, Inside Sales Engineers, Parts Manager, Engineering Staff and Purchasing Staff, this position focuses on using technical, organizational, customer knowledge and experience to complete tasks required.
Job Duties
- REVIEW AND PREPARE PROPOSALS
- Review proposal log for assigned proposals/quotes
- Work on proposals/quotes as assigned
- Review and understand customer specifications and drawing to qualify customer’s needs and requests
- Research previous jobs for comparable builds
- Review jobs’ actual costs for comparison to estimate and evaluate the accuracy of the quoting process
- CONSULT AND CLARIFY REQUIREMENTS
- Consult with Materials Manager, Estimators, and/or Engineering when reviewing customer requirements to confirm best practices
- Have a firm understanding of all vendor product lines and how they best apply to the customers’ needs
- Contact vendors directly through vendor websites for major commercial components
- Contact Purchasing and vendors for steel prices, and keep a current price list of steel prices readily available
- COMMUNICATE WITH CUSTOMERS AND INTERNAL TEAMS
- Review proposal for all customer requirements
- Contact customers to clarify requirements and equipment options
- Suggest options or alternatives to customers
- Prepare a formal proposal for customers in detail
- Communicate as required, any sales order or customer changes with customers, RSM, Engineering, Accounting,
- Purchasing, Production or Service
- SUPPORT AND REVISE QUOTES
- Revise quotes as needed to meet customer requirements
- Establish standard item pricing for quotes
- Once the estimate is approved, enter and save in Excel
- Prepare documents for kickoff meeting
- Enter kickoff meeting notes in SO folder
- SUPPORT STAFF
- Serve as support for RSM, Inside Sales, Parts Manager,
- Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Service and others
- Answer Phones
